NightKnight I think the word you are looking for is "indestructable." For really it talks about Orthanc being indestructable, sort of protected by this magic, something so strong that Ents were bruising themselves to try and destroy it. But, I do believe untakable is a word, lol.

As for the question of was Sauron trying to set a "trap." I think it's possible, in fact very likely, that Sauron would try and trap Pippin, Aragorn...etc into Minas Tirith, thinking it is a sure victory. Of course it backfired.

As Kuruharan said, there's nothing ever saying that Sauron showed Pippin the assault on Minas Tirith. LOTRfreak your statement about "maybe Pippin assumed" has no proof of ever happening. So you can't say it did, it's possible, but it would only be a conjecture and can't write it off as a "fact."
