She wasn't even aware she was wrting fantasy until near the end of the Philosopher's Stone. <P>What parallels do you see? <P>She didn't create a whole world, but one that straddled the 'real' and her fantasy. Nor is it an epic, but the story of one kid, growing up in rather, um, odd circumstances. It's not a good against evil story, but a boyish romp which spends its time rolling around in silliness, books that bite, that sort of thing. There's a bad guy, sure but he's just there to drive the plot along.
