I have never had the time or ambition to actually sit down and read the Simarillion, and that may explain why I do not know EXACTLY the answer to this question, or rather statement:
In ROTK it directly quotes that Prince Imrahil of Dol Amroth is the kinsman of the Lord, I am assuming Lord Denethor. Denethor's wife, as quoted in the Appendices of ROTK, was the daughter of Adrahil of Dol Amroth, and here is the question: was Denethor's wife Imrahil's sister, making Imrahil the uncle of Faramir and Boromir? Or did Tolkien even provide a precise answer to this? Please help!

"You wish, then," said Faramir, "that our places had been exchanged?" "Yes, I do wish that," said Denethor. "For Boromir was loyal to me, and no wizard's pupil." |
