Thx, Gamja, but this info (on the use of a Hardanger fiddle) is on the little booklet that's in the case to The Two Towers soundtrack - there's also a mention of it in the extra material on, I believe, the Extended Edition Two Towers, where there's also a short glimpse of the instrument itself.
