Music in Fellowship Scene
In the scene where the Fellowship is camping out in the forest of Lothlorien after meeting with Galadriel, someone, I believe Aragorn mentions hearing music in the forest surrounding them and Legolas mentions that it is the Elves mourning a loss. It's an extremely beautiful piece of music but as far as I can tell, it's not on any of the three soundtracks.
Does anyone know what this piece of music is or if I'm just missing it on one of the soundtracks? |

There was a special extended CD released, it had a cover somewhat similar to the extended DVD, was it on that, or have you heard it?

The only version I have watched beginning to end is the extended edition, so yes it was definitely in that. I saw part of the meeting with the Elves in the theatrical version the one time I saw it on TV (my favorite part of the movie) and thought there was at least a little bit of it in that but I could be wrong.

Did you mean the 'Lothlorien' track?
You can find a small discussion of it here: FOTR Soundtrack. They have two versions they discuss - one off the CD and one that came as the sheet music. And also HERE in posts 73 to 79.

I think you may have misread my post, I wasnt talking about the DVD. There was a special edition CD released, which had extras on it, such as Annie Lennox singing another song, consisting of poetry from The Books. I have packed it away, as I am moving house, or I would give you the serial number. If you have not resolved this by the time I unpack, then I will send the info on.

Is the other annie lennox song called 'Use well the days' if you can remember?
that song's even better than Into the West. I take it the special edition CD was for the whole trilogy? |

Yes you are correct, it is Use well the days, and it is good. The cover was green leather (look), like The Fellowship, as I cannot put my hands on it, and (shame) cannot remember the exact details of the CD, I am guessing by saying it was just for the Fellowship.

"Use Well the Days" was legally available for a while as an MP3, online. It's lovely. Try googling for it, or look on the scrapbook page.

Use well the days is indeed a very lovely song though I still prefer Into the West. But that discussion doesn't probably belong to this thread... Anyway, I just though that if someone should be interested, they can use well their days and click here for an mp3.
