I am desperate here! I need a description of the Eldarin naming ceremony in which the father gives the elf-child its name. It is described in Morgoth's Ring, which I don't have a copy. If ANYONE has a copy of it and can quote me the description of the ceremony, also called Essecarmë, I would be eternally grateful!

Ah, well I guess this thread answers some other threads that have been posted on the length of the elvish childhood. From reading that quote, it sounds like they mature in 12-18 years like that of men, as opposed to 100 years or something. Interesting...
