| ROTK- Assaults on Lothlorien

Do you think PJ will show the assaults during the movie? Since he's so fond of elves, and he wants them in all 3 movies to be as important as they were in FOTR...
I hope he does... It's a siege I would love to see.

Nope, He's got too much to show anyway. I'd rather see the Sorcering of the Shire in full then the siege of Lothlorien.

I agree, even though I think it would be interesting to see the siege of Lorien I would definitely rather see PJ do as much of the scouring of the shire as possible, I think its one of the most crucial parts of ROTK and it would be sad if it was made really short. Im sure PJ will find some interesting way to involve the elves just like he did in TTT with Helm's Deep.
~Seka

I heard that the Scouring of the Shire isn't going to be in the movie. I'm not going to expect much from the movie, either, just to make sure there's no disappointments.

I'm so sorry to be the bringer of bad news, but it was my understanding that the scouring of the Shire was to be left out of "The Return of the King", mainly for pacing purposes. Because of this, I think that scenes of the assault on lothlorien would be more likely to be seen.
PS: What I heard about the scouring of the Shire is by no means a carved in stone, for sure tip. It was only what I had read somewhere awhile back. I personally hope that it makes its way into the film, but definitely can see how it could mess up the pacing.

I'm hoping that they will have scenes of Lothlorien in the extended TT. The shot of Gandalf "awakening" with a gasp, and Galadriel's exposition scene makes me think that perhaps P.J. filmed some scenes with Gandalf returning to M-E in Lorien, (as he does in the book.)
If he does include such scenes, then surely there will be at least hints that the Golden Wood is under attack. Of course, if they were under attack, then why would she be sending Haldir and his troops off to Helm's Deep?
Mind you, I have not seen anything on the Net that suggests that these scenes exist. I just think it would be very cool if they did.

Are you completely sure that the Siege of Lorien wont be in the movie?
It would be great to see it... Although Im sure PJ will find a way to involve elves in an interesting way...
But, most of all, I wanna see elves in the Pelennor fields battle... And Im sure PJ will use Arwen in battle scenes... Thats what Ive concluded because of some images Ive seen...

They are probably test shots.

quote:
In a book that is supposed to be about MANS trouble with Sauron, I'm hoping to see at least one battle that doesn't involve Elves.

And I will certainly agree with that!

There will be plenty of Elves in the story. Think of the whole Elrond and Arwen storyline. It will show Elves leaving Middle Earth.

I hope the battle of Pellenor fields is saved by Aragorn and the Rohirrim NOT by Elves again. Don't get me wrong, I love elves and i think they are super cool. Another thing, What are they going to do with Galadriel? she tells Aragorn that they will not meet again. Does she just leave for the havens?

I pray that she won't just leave for the Grey Havens. Not only I, but many a Tolkien fan, would be uncontollably outraged if Jackson screws with the coronation of Aragorn beyond book to screen adaptation adjustments.
Plus, I wouldn't worry too much. In the "Two Towers" it is also implied that Arwen is leaving for the Grey Havens right away. We all know that no one would be dumb enough to mess up Arwen's part in the story in such a way. I think that Jackson is just playing some mental games with the attentive viewers.

From what Ive seen in the pictures of ROTK, it seems that Arwen goes to Lorien (and it seems that Elrond too). Dont worry about it, Im sure that Aragorn's coronation will be a scene to remember...
