You link a character to another, using these handy-dandy symbols:

-m> = means that the previous one is the mother of the next one.
-f> = means father.
-d> = means daughter.
-s> = means son.

OK, here's an example:

Q: Fëanor -> Galadriel
A: Fëanor -s> Finwë -f> Finarfin -f> Galadriel
