I just thought we could start a thread where Downers from the Southern US could check in and let us know that they are OK.

So...everyone all right?

(Realising of course that most people in the South right now:

a) don't have electricity, and so

b) don't have internet access and even if they did,

c) have more important worries

but I thought I would give it a try anyway.)

Completely agree Fordim. Very good idea and very thoughtful of you. My hopes and prayers go out to all those down there.

My grand-parents go to Florida every year so they are just hoping it didn't get to close to there house. I'm praying for everyone who was affected by it.

I know Lithui07 (she's not very active on here, but still) lives down in Florida, but the hurricane missed her completely. I hope other southerns on the Downs didn't suffer through Katrina. My prayers go out to all of them.

Well, it's been pointed out on another thread that The Perky Ent is from New Orleans. I really hope he's alright.

I know some of our chat wights are southerners *Fea habitually curses she who calls me "Yankee"* and is not our own Mithadan a Floridian? My thoughts and the prayers of myself and my friends go out to all affected.

Well, The Perky Ent just posted a couple of hours ago, so I think we can assume that he's alive, safe, and somewhere with internet access. (In other words, out of New Orleans.)
