Best EE of LotR
So, you've seen all the EE ( the most people aroud here ), but wich one is the best? For me TTT, you see more edited scenes in battles then in the others.

I'd say TTT EE as well. I like it because of the added scene of Boromir and Faramir, and I love the lines between these two (plus Denethor). "That leaves more time for drinking little brother."
I think this Osgiliath scene also makes me ok with Faramir taking the ring to Osgiliath. Since, Denethor is such a jerk here, Faramir wants to please his father, so it explains why he doesn't let Frodo go at Hennuth Annun, and that's a change I can live with. The added scenes with Merry and Pippin at the end are just hilarious, I haven't see the EE in almost a year, but something about Treebeard being a plant and not wanting to offend him haha. Then the Huorns at Helm's Deep, I'm just glad they added them in there, to please the book fans. |

I would also say the extended version of The Two Towers, because that film needed more substance. The extended version really added to the overall quality.
Fellowship was also good. King seemed a bit different, with quite a few scenes just lobbed in as extras. I don't think the extra scenes in the final film complemented the rest of the film as well, compared with the other two.

Yes, and Fellowship had more drama scenes and other scenes where they were talking, not that I don't like it, but I want to see more scenes of the past like in TTT EE with Boromir and Faramir

The RotK EE was my favorite for two reasons: Saruman and the Mouth of Sauron (I also like any reason to give the Witchking more screen time)

My favorite EE movie was the Fellowship of the Ring. In this version the viewer sees a lot more concerning Boromir, which in my opinion is essential to understanding this character. Also it shows a little bit more of the elves. Even though not including Gildor it does show some elves singing while they move towards the Grey Havens.

A nice post King, there's another scene that shows us a lot about Boromir. This is my favorite added scene from all the EE's, in TTT. It really shows a lot on Boromir. The flashback of Faramir remembering his brother

I think my favourite was TTT EE. I agree with Eomer about the film having needed more substance and the extra scenes really gave it that.
The ROTK EE was good and some of the scenes were great, such as the Mouth of Sauron and the explanation of how the mithril shirt got to the gate. But the "fight" between Gandalf and the Witch King was a bit disappointing.

TTT was my favorite also. All the extended scenes between Faramir, Boromir, and Denethor were not only well done, but they added to the movie a lot and explained quite a bit.

i think the RotK was the best extended edition because the theatrical release of it totally missed out Saruman, and i also liked the part of the paths of the dead when Legolas is speaking because i sounds creepy, and i liked the witchking and Gandalf scene.

I think that those scenes wern't enough to be the best EE for me. TTT EE just shows more things about Gimli and Legolas. And I hoped to see more of that in the TrotK EE...
