Aman raised an eyebrow inwardly, but shrugged, nodding. "Of course." You certainly did get all sorts in the Green Dragon, but this fellow...

Turning to where she kept the coffee, tea and warm milk for hot chocolate behind the bar, Aman pulled out a mug for the customer whilst he stared absent-mindedly around the Common Room - both completely unaware of the rush of wings and the delighted and victorious crow as he flew away.

Aman excused herself from the man as she left the mug in front of him, not noticing the coins immediately, as she popped her head in to check lunch was organised - it took a good two hours to do venison really nicely when it was slow cooked in Vinca's oven. Not Vinca's at the moment, Aman thought with a sigh. And after Aman and Serilda had talked it over, the little hobbit lass had eventually parted to work for 'Cousin Adalia', with a promise to write to the Innkeeper or send her a message at some point telling how it was going. Two cooks gone in the space of a week...

Still, no matter, Buttercup had mentioned a sister with a good hand for cooking... at the moment, Ruby was doing her best, and her best was more than the hobbit-lass gave herself credit for. Aman was greeted by a hiss of boiling metal meeting water and withdrew her head hastily, calling quietly through the kitchen door, "Lunch is coming, Ruby?"

"Aye, Aman, aye," came the slightly distracted reply followed by a string of orders to someone else evidently pulled into the kitchen. Aman nodded, satisfied, then turned back to Gird, her eyes falling on the coins, a glimmering pile of gold, lying by their owners arm as if they amounted to but a few pennies...and her eyebrows shot up. He could pay for half the Inn to have a drink with that little lot! Clearing her throat politely, Aman took two coins from the pile and pushed the rest over to Gird - something you could say for the Rohirric Innkeeper was that she was honest.

"Sir, I think you may have misjudged the drink a little," she murmured, grinning.
