The whole damn movie was great, but my favourite bit was:
When Elrond has given Aragorn the sword, he suddenly says "Onen i-Estel Edain" (I gave Hope to men), and Aragorn replies "U-chebin estel anim" (I kept no hope for myself). Hey, wow, I remembered it off by heart!
To most in the cinema, that was merely a sweet thing to say, but to me, and anyone else who loved the tale of Aragorn and Arwen in the appendices, would have recognised it as Gilraen (Aragorn's mother) 's last words to her son before she died. I thought it was so sweet, and I found it so sad that nobody else in the cinema knew the full significance of those words that I burst into tears..
EDIT: Spelling...
[ 1:10 PM December 20, 2003: Message edited by: Anything but Arwen ]
