Those of us who are horse enthusiasts, Fordim, will add that Aragorn's verse canters (or gallops). It is a battle-cry gaining momentum, leading a charge, rolling like distant thunder:
"Half a league, half a league, half a league onward"
...
"Honor the charge they made, noble six hundred!"
