I did turn it into a joke, I just couldn't resist... but I was serious. Or at least partially so.
I suppose it
does come down to being clumsily done, and if anyone wants they can pick any version of why it is so just to, you know, watch the movie without ruffling their own feathers... I prefer the psychological one.
