The book episode is wonderful, but it would have over-burdened an already overly long sequence of "wrap up" scenes. And is it just me, or does anyone else think that "Praise him with great praise" would have sounded vaguely Pythonesque on screen? <P>As for Gimli, well he could hardly stand in the crowd looking pretty like Legolas and his pals, nor could he be honoured with the Hobbits. So why not let him have his moment with the crown?
