Got me there! He's Peter Pettigrew, one of the companions and the betrayer of James and Lily Potter (Harry's dead parents) in the Harry Potter series (introduced in
Prisoner of Azkaban explicitly, but present throughout the series (won't spoil it for those who haven't read the books). He was the sidekick of the Dark Lord Voldemort, thus the automatic analogy with Wormtongue. I thought it an apt analogy myself!
