This is a very exciting event for Tolkien fans!!
This is an actual story rather than a bok with edits and footnotes and whatnot. And I can vouch for the fact that it reads
exceptionally well, having managed to sneak in a quick look this morning! It's got that nice narrative feel we get from Lord of the Rings! However, I'm going to savour every last word and read it sloooowly when I get home - see if I can make it last all week.
Bah to anyone who says they can read it from the fragments hither and thither. I always thought that the proof would be in the pudding, and I can confirm it's served with
lashings of custard.
