Tolkien's books are just so unlike anything else that came before...there has been lots of good fantasy writing, but all that I like has come after Tolkien, and although extremely enjoyable to read, I doubt could ever even hope to surpass him. Then again, I might just not be giving it a chance [img]smilies/smile.gif[/img]
