I have to say that I liked the palantir scene. At first I thought it was a bit overdone but now after seeing it again a couple of times, I think it was well done.<P> I talked to one of my friends after who hadn't read the books before going to see the movie, and asked her what she thought of that scene. She told me that she was frightened for Pippin, being one of her favourite characters, and wanted to know what was happening, and was almost panicking herself.
