Yep! Bilbo has got to be the best! Certainly, he had the most fun with it!
But then again, Frodo bore it
knowing what a horrible thing it was, and having some idea what it was doing to him!
Bilbo bore it in ignorance, which was relatively blissful...
But, doggone it! I just
like Sam best!
Isildur has no excuse. Not with Elrond, the brother of the first of his own lineage telling him to hurl it into the forge of Orodruin near at hand. (Of course, that's where the Ring exerted its greatest strength...)
I'm too wishy-washy for this!
Frodo suffered most. (Not counting Smeagol, who started with murder and deserved [yes, Gandalf, deserved!] what he got...) So I guess Frodo of the Nine Fingers gets my vote.

(But then, nobody mentioned Gandalf, who held it long enough to hurl it into the fire at Bag End...)
