I've been reading Tolkien for several years now, though I just finished the Sil this year.

I also found that slightly annoying/confusing when I bought the Spanish translation of the Fellowship, but it is also a good way to learn more about both languages. For instance, I didn't realize what the Shire really meant until I saw it translated as Comarca, which means neighbourhood. Then it clicked with all those -shire suffixes that England has!
