Publicly my appearance here reminds me of a certain fateful day when there came a tremendous ring on the front-door bell of Bilbo Baggins' Hobbit hole. Perhaps The Powers That Be here at the Lonely Star are now peering round out the windows to see whether an entire troupe of Dwarven story-readers will show up in groups of two and four, to join Bethberry and I in becoming what she would call "pestering voices." Ah, yes, at first Bilbo rather wished to be rid of me when I appeared on his doorstep one morning. * good-natured smile *
