Beregond -- given the supreme importance of the ring, you're right -- Isildur actually performed the most important act in Gorgoroth by cutting the One Ring off. But I always pictured Isildur as coming in only after Gil-galad and Elendil had overcome Sauron so that he was unconscious (or whatever Maiar do when they're whipped), so between Isildur and Gil-galad-Elendil, who shd get the credit? But I guess your answer WAS correct.
