I'd like to point to
Mith's sig again:

Bliss was it in that dawn to be alive,
But to be young was very heaven!--

Beautiful, and a large day in history, and not only in 1989. I went to listen to two speakers yesterday who went through Kristallnacht, but were able to evacuate to Great Britain on the Kindertransport. Not only an educational program, but very touching and emotional one too. The most beneficial part was not the recounting of what took place in the late 1930s and after, but the fact that both speakers within the last 10 years were able to return back to where they grew up in Germany. Out of the horrors of the past, they were able to find closure, peace, and reconnect with compassionate individuals. Something that we all need to remember, to learn and talk with others on an individual, personal basis and not hold the sins of ancestors against anyone.
But ya, very touching program, and
Mith's signature brings out the history of November 9th, as that day (for many different reasons) should never be forgotten.
