Calad sat there, his chin on his knees, listening to the crackling of the fire. It relaxed him a bit, as well as the singing of the crickets. He watched as Thengise leapt onto a tree-branch and gazed at the stars. Calad slowly stood up, breathing heavily as the wind blew and the smoke drifted towards him. He walked over to the tree, leapt upon the branch which Thengise sat on, and stared at her. Unfortunately the branch was too thin to bear the weight of both elves, and soon it began to crack and creak.
