Not very creative of me but they are all cousins of Frodo.

OR

They all where record holders, more or less.

Merry and Pippin are the tallest hobbits.
Frodo is the best hobbit in the Shire according to Gandalf and Bilbo.
Bilbo is the oldest hobbit.

OR

Or Gandalf had a clear opinion about them.

Frodo the best hobbit of the Shire
