I mean, if I was working on any of the various timelines you'd
know, because I'd be incapable of not posting about it.

I have no new insights.

Oh but this is
good. Is this a new "final comment" on the timeline?
Letters (6000 years since War of the Ring) was ca. 1958,
NoME (16 000 years since Men entered Beleriand) was ca. 1960; and now this is 1964.
And naturally, it lies right between the two previous figures (6000 or 9250 years), and is vague enough that I don't know whether we would be calculating on 8000 or 7500 years.
I think you're right that this has to be our guide for the
Silvan Elves comment. It looks like I really struggled to make 9250 or so years work; that's not a surprise, given that our timelines and AAm both said it was about 4000 years from the separation to the end of the Age. In fact I never
did resolve it: my Version 5 timeline just cuts from 5472 to 11303 in a year. Um... whoops!
The flexibility of 7000-8000 might make it more workable. I will have to take yet another look...

What we really need is an
interactive timeline where you can select your assumptions. I bet I could do that, too.
