two years after the Ring was destroyed? I will never understand Gondorian timekeeping. 

 And the Second continues blithely on through the literal changing of the world, but ends as soon as some elf dude gets squished. Why do I suspect that if we had more detailed accounts, we'd find the First Age 'officially' ended two years before Beleriand sank, because Finarfin had a cup of tea...?
