And it was considerations along those lines that led my to come up with the 10 classes of canonicity I posted above, ranging from Class I (Aragorn from youth bore the shards of Narsil, reforged as Anduril after the Council) to Class X (Elrond delivered the remade Sword of Dead-Commanding to Aragorn in Rohan).
