There is a first half to the password, in quite an obvious place, which would make the remaining clues much easier. Baggins is only half the password.
I think the remaining clues could then be guessed very easily by working backwards. They are difficult, but I felt that was offset by how much password there is and the fact that the password also gives you the initial of each clue.
By the way, 'Wayward thing' alone is enough to solve clue 6.
