There may be... I haven't got to that level myself. I know there are some historic sound changes and that there is lenition in Sindarin but mainly I use elements from existing names and substitute.But I think the sound was important as the meaning. I can't tell you if the second l in elladan was a reflection of a rule or merely a way to encourage correct pronunciation when rendered into roman script.
I do use a dictionary from ambar eldaron and there is a good , list of elements in the Silmarillion.
If I think of anything I will post again.
