Yes, well, what's that quote about awful/scary things making for long, interesting stories, but years of beauty and peace are swiftly summarized in a sentence or two...
Certainly there's a part of me that is uncomfortable with that, but it remains true for the most part. Thuringwethil was a player in the middle of a long and bloody conflict, while Vaire hung about in Valinor. The potential is just so far apart for interesting/cool stories we could invent.
That isn't to say that I wouldn't be fond of Vaire in real life- she could have a fun sense of humor and possess other talents and a pleasant disposition. So if this contest were for naming, "Which people do you want at your dinner-party?" then I'd vote for her over Thuringwethil most likely. The vampire would just be too great a risk, what with my tasty jugular and all...
