As for Glorfindel, the element
fin in his name is some circumstantial evidence that he was descended from Fingolfin or Finarfin, as the names given by Elven fathers to their sons tended to echoe their own. Also, the only golden-haired Noldor were of the houses of Fingolfin or Finarfin. But I won't go into the hair genetics thing, since I got a bit conflustered on another thread about Legolas.
