I read the Hobbit for the first time in the fall of 2001. I was looking for a new fiction book to read, and my husband recommended it to me. After that, I went on to LotR. I'd heard about LotR before, some people in my high school said I should read it because I liked that kind of thing, but I thought it sounded boring, or corny. Now all I can do is lament [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] the years wasted in not enjoying these masterfully written books.
