If you log onto
www.my.lotro.com/home , there is a place where you can enter your characters into a lottery. Most frequently they have "welcome wagon" kind of things, with some kind of meh jewelry and some food, and they'll also have seasonal and flash lotteries. I got the yule tree and our wallpaper from a lottery, and two of my chars on Silverlode won a bag of Goldfire Pipeweed last week. Right now until the end of today is a lottery entitled simply "PIE!".
