I thought so for the longest time too!
I always thought "Who's this Rick Cottontree Eowyn speaks of anyway?" I didn't recognise the name, and now I know why.
Actually, I didn't get what she was saying until I read the bit of the book where 'rick, cot, and tree' are in a different order.
