The match ended in an uneventful 0-0 draw, but there was a moment of excitement in the 39th minute. Ugluk committed a hard sliding tackle, on Voronwe, from behind. The ref immediately drew out a yellow card which sent Quickbeam into a rage. His eyes flashed a bright green, he dug his roots deep into the field and ripped out a large chunk of turf. There was a 2 meter in diameter and 7 meter deep crater in the middle of the field. Officials had to call out the grounds crew to refill the massive hole before being able to continue play, and the ref carded Quickbeam for delaying the game.

Treebeard re-composed his players as they still had to set up defensively for Voronwe's free kick, which was placed only 25 meters from the goal. Voronwe was looking to guide the ball to Tuor, but he mis-hit it and it went straight into the gigantic wall the Ents made. Treebeard easily, and effectively cleared it, sending a blast that landed just short of the penalty box on the other side of the field!

The half came to a close. Vinyamar had missed on their best scoring opportunity, and neither team got as good of a chance in the 2nd.
