Hello! avatars are the pics you see posted under peoples user names. You should see a picture of Arwen under my name. It's just a picture you pick. If you need help understanding how to get one, let me know, and I'll help you out. The little message icons can either go along with the topic of your post, or you could pick one and use it on all your posts, or whatever you feel like doing.
