Morthoron, of course he/she is talking within the Tolkien universe. Illuvatar was the "one" he was talking about, and there was to be a great end in Tolkien's work. By the way, welcome to the Downs Eäralda Halatiriva

I'm going to see if I can find anything on the subject. Tolkien did begin writing another novel after
The Lord of the Rings but stopped after he thought that the sacrifices made in LotR would then all be in vain. I think that there was a mention of some type of wizard.
