If youlook at the family trees in the Appendices you will see that:
Fredegar Bolger and Sam were born in SR 1380 so they would have been 38/9 (depending on birthdays)
Peregrin was born 10 years later in 1390 so he was 28/29
Merry was born in 1382 so he was 36/37
