SOUTH PARK EPISODE CONTAINS "ADULT MATERIAL"
:::WARNING:::
So, in other words, if you really want to know why Butters turns into Gollum, I would suggest familiarizing yourself with the usual South Park material. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from watching it, but they seem to tarnish LotR with. . . um. . .how do I say this? Well, let's just say that South Park is for "mature audiences only". But it's really funny when Butters starts to act like Gollum, and how the kids end up getting rid of him. In fact, they basically give away the ending to TTT and RotK at the end of the episode.

Consider the purr a variety of audible tranquilizer. [. . .] For a few of us, there is one more purr, a secret purr. When we combine our secret purrs, we produce the Purr of Power. And that is simply the amplified amity we feel as furred and purred beings.
