Doesn't Homely mean plug ugly in American though?!!!? My mother (who lived at Princeton for a while) warned me not to use homely before I went to the states for the first time lest I cause grave offence - made me wonder what US reader thoughyt of Rivendell being the last Homely house....

On a good day I sound like a Radio 4 announcer (and I am thinking Charlotte Green rather than Brian Perkins - The Saucepan Man might very well sound like him though ) on a bad day I am liable to start squeaking and sound like the Queen on helium......
