Yup. Saurun was referred to as the Necromancer when he was resurrecting himself in Southern Mirkwood. He was defeated there by the White Council and then fled to Mordor.
He had a tower in Souther Mirkwood, but I forget the name [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img]
