Funny that one will have to purposefully "flame" a discussion here... But yes, it's looking much better now. For days and days we have just voted with all kinds of reasons and basically nonsensical-reasons. Firefoot made the case perfectly in saying:

And I fail to see how "I've never heard of them" is a worse argument than "his name sounds funny," "just to save a different character," or the like.

Some people have tried to ignite the discussion to no avail. We have just sported a sentence in passing and voted, mainly on the same character daily (just a couple of interesting ties or "near cases").
So yes, let's keep up with this intensity, and make it better! Reasoning, argumenting, overdoing things and seeing if the others will note... That's more a game.
PS. It's been years since I've read the Farmer Giles of Ham. But already now, with the help of some of the arguments made here, I've noticed myself thinking whether I should read it again. If that is not the noble "sub-raison d'etrê" for this kind of a game, then what is?
