To add to that:
I don't want to sound exclusive or anything - I'd hate to see somebody left out because they couldn't get a song in - but I think continually extending the deadline somewhat cheapens the show.
I mean...what's the point of having a (*drumroll please*

deadline if everyone knows it's just going to be extended anyway?
Again, I'm not wishing elimination on anyone because they're short on time (I know how it feels) but still...
