No, they're pretty much the same thing. However, if you're talking about
Dry Ginger Ale then that's something very different. There's no way you ever want to mix a few measures of whisky with Ginger Beer or Ale, however it goes perfectly with
Dry Ginger Ale, AKA Canada Dry.
