Cordelia listened to his story and shook her head. How could people so cruel and cold? Yes, Rohan was a difficult place to live, but it was made harder when people like Samuel got greedy and jealous.

He was being so strong as they all had been taught. She slowed down their horses, leaned over, and kissed him softly.

"Your house and land may be destroyed, but your spirit is not Garnae. We are from Rohan and as such we have to rebuild. It is what our ancestors have done and it was we are to do. As long as I live you shall have your revenge against Samuel," she replied.

She looked down at their hands. He had nothing and she everything. A conversation she had had with her father once made its way into her mind. She smiled to herself.

"Just remember you are not alone. As long as you want me, I will by your side. I will help you rebuild, to start over. I've done it before after a storm that nearly wiped out my home. Just remember you are never alone," she whispered softly.
