Alas, Survivor shows do not hold such a reputation.
But at least this day has brought more excitement and controversy in one day than there has been throughout the rest of the show to date. The viewing figures are soaring in response. Which cannot be a bad thing, whichever way the voting may go.
And the Smithsonians have at last been compelled to put up a defence of their sacred .. er ... cabbage, rather than simply assuming his continued survival. Happily, and as I could have predicted, the exercise has established that there is no credible case for his continued survival, let alone his victory.
'Tis sentimentality alone which grips the thread by which his survival hangs ...
