The more I think about this the more I like it. Lots of the right stuff is there.

And I think (also) that Richard Dean Anderson would have been a good Book Boromir-- caustic, cocky, crusty, and believably warlike, but once you penetrate the exterior, vulnerable and loyal to a fault. (The problem with all this is that I liked Movie Boromir even better than I liked Book Boromir. So i still prefer Sean Bean for that part.)
