'Lovers' doesn't necessarily have to have a sexual connotation. I was using it in the sense of those who loved her.

Well, she does tell Frodo that the Eye of Sauron that he saw 'is also in
my mind.' It seems that all she does is inspired by Sauron - maybe
he was her 'muse' in that she would have done little creatively without him. I think it was
Lyta on a different thread who questioned the necessity of evil in Middle-earth....
